Ungraded

Absence of grade labels

CONTINUAL LEARNER PROGRESS

Learning is seen as one continuum with graduated levels

No grade labels are used that presumes a certain age level can perform and should function academically.

Instead, LEVELS are used to show progress of each learner.

Degree of difficulty is characterized by Level 1, 2, 3, ...

absence of marking system

no retention nor failure

Check marks are used to indicate that a certain learner has sufficiently acquired the skills, knowledge, and values related to the lesson

If a learner did not finish a subject area on a certain level on a given period of time, the learner simply continues the lessons on that level before proceeding to a next higher level.

ACADEMIC INTEGRITY

  1. being honest in all academic submissions and learnings
  2. doing what is right even when no one is looking
  3. symbolize trust and honesty in all the work a learner will do

Academic Integrity Pledge As a Seibo College learner, I pledge to uphold academic integrity by being honest with my work submissions and activities, by avoiding plagiarism, by taking my mastery tests only after I have studied and answered my learning modules. I promise to study and learn the lessons, ask for help when I do not understand clearly what is taught. I will not let anyone answer the work I am supposed to do and submit. I will do my best to honor this pledge, with the help of Seibo Maria.

Psychosocial Services

The school has partnered with Carandang Institute to provide guidance services to all students and behavior therapy, play therapy, and shadow teaching for learners with special learning needs. Therapy services are at the cost of parents who will avail of the service. Therapy services will be given in the school campus on a specific schedule.

1. How many subjects does my child need to do?Ans. Subjects are the same as regular school. We follow DepEd Curriculum.

2. What if the child and parent doesn't know the lesson, will there be a teacher to help? Ans. Yes. Learning facilitators can help you virtually through personal/individual discussions or meetings.

3. Will there be an online class? Ans. It depends on the needs of the learner. Accommodations are mostly done on individual basis to address the specific needs of the learner.

4. Is there an assigned adviser? Ans. Yes, a moderator will be assigned to help you monitor the progress of the learner. Also, there are different learning facilitators for each subject.

5. When does my child take Achievement Tests?Ans. Taking of Achievement Tests will depend on the child's readiness.

6. Should parents be certified to be able to teach or assist their child? Ans. No, learning modules will help the parents assist their child.

7. Do I need to discuss all the content of the module to my child? Ans. Not necessarily. Let the child read and understand first the material and ask him/her to highlight the parts he/she doesn't understand. And then be a guide on the side to help him/her understand the concept. This is not spoon feeding, we are training your child to become an independent and responsible learner.
