Mary Poppins

Though it is never explained where Mary really comes from, it is said that she lives outside of time, meaning that she apparently does not age. She is seen sitting on a cloud above London near the beginning of the film, however. It is known that she has a friend named Bert and an uncle named Albert (though it is unclear if he is her blood relative, as others call him that as well), who both live in London in 1910. Mary Poppins is described as being "practically perfect in every way." As a nanny, she is fairly stern, but also kind and nurturing. She is shown to possess various magical abilities including the ability to speak to animals and transport herself and others to various places (including sidewalk chalk pictures), as well as flight. However, afterward, she will deny any usage of these powers and her many voyages and adventures, presumably to keep them a secret from the public.

“The idea came into my mind that as steam was a gas it would rush into a vacuum, and if I linked the engine’s cylinder to a vessel at low pressure, the steam would rush into it. The steam would condense there and it wouldn’t cool the engine-cylinder. I then saw that I must get rid of the condensed steam from the cylinder.”

James Watt

Watt realised that this version of the steam engine was very inefficient because energy was repeatedly being used to heat the cylinder. He decided to try and invent a more efficient alternative.

Around 1763, Watt came into contact with his first Newcomen steam engine. They had been in use for over 50 years, with no significant development.

(1736–1819) was a Scottish inventor, mechanical engineer and chemist – he is famous for developing the first steam engine with a wide range of uses. His inventions greatly increased the efficiency of the steam engine and enabled it to become a pivotal part of the Industrial Revolution.

Other important developments which Watt worked on included a system of gears which enabled the motion of the steam engine to be converted into rotary motion – in other words, an engine that can turn wheels.

Important inventions included developing a double-action engine so that power was used in both the up and downstroke. He insulated the steam cylinder to increase efficiency. The combined effect of Watt’s improvements was an approximate five-fold increase in the power and efficiency of the steam engine.

He moved to Birmingham and, over the next six years, continued to improve the steam engine.

He worked on a model which caused steam to condense inside a separate chamber apart from the piston. He soon had a working model and by 1775 had received a patent called: “A New Invented Method of Lessening the Consumption of Steam and Fuel in Fire Engines.”

OK, it seems that we'll have to go in another world to have information about this suspect ....

Let's find some clues.....

Harry Potter

Harry Potter is a boy who was born to two loving parents, Lily and James Potter. Harry, like his parents, is a wizard. When Harry was one year old, his parents were killed by a dark arts (evil) wizard named Lord Voldemort, leaving him with a scar in the shape of a lightning bolt. Voldemort had heard a prophecy that his greatest enemy would be a child that had the same exact description as Harry. Voldemort fails to kill Harry and disappears. After the deaths of his parents, he was raised by his non-magical Aunt Petunia (muggle), Uncle Vernon, and cousin (Dudley) and they didn't treat him well. As a child, he did not know he was a wizard. He eventually discovers that there are many magical people, living secretly and hiding from non-wizards (known as "Muggles"). When Harry turned eleven on July 31st, he received a letter inviting him to go to a school called Hogwarts for young witches and wizards. Each book tells the story of one year of his life at the school and tells how he struggles. On the Hogwarts Express, the train they use to get to Hogwarts, he meets Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, his two best friends, along with many other characters. Voldemort tries several times to return, before finally succeeding in the fourth book. The series ends with Harry defeating Voldemort. The first book was edited in 1997

William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright, and actor. He was born on 26 April 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon. His father was a successful local businessman and his mother was the daughter of a landowner. Shakespeare is widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. He is often called England's national poet and nicknamed the Bard of Avon. He wrote about 38 plays, 154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and a few other verses, of which the authorship of some is uncertain. His plays have been translated into every major living language and are performed more often than those of any other playwright.Marriage and careerShakespeare married Anne Hathaway at the age of 18. She was eight years older than him. They had three children: Susanna, and twins Hamnet and Judith. After his marriage information about his life became very rare. But he is thought to have spent most of his time in London writing and performing in his plays. Between 1585 and 1592, he began a successful career in London as an actor, writer, and part-owner of a playing company called the Lord Chamberlain's Men, later known as the King's Men.

James Bond

Commander James Bond, is a fictional spy created by the British journalist and novelist Ian Fleming in 1953. He is the protagonist of the James Bond series of novels, films, comics and video games. Fleming wrote twelve Bond novels and two short story collections. His final two books—The Man with the Golden Gun (1965) and Octopussy and The Living Daylights (1966)—were published posthumously. The character is a Secret Intelligence Service agent, code number 007, residing in London but active internationally. Bond was a composite character who was based on a number of commandos whom Fleming knew during his service in the Naval Intelligence Division during the Second World War, to whom Fleming added his own style and a number of his own tastes. Fleming claimed that Bond's name was appropriated from the American ornithologist of the same name. Bond has a number of consistent character traits which run throughout the books, including an enjoyment of cars, a love of food, alcohol and love-making, and a smoking habit of 60 custom-made cigarettes a day.

Beatles ... Paul McCartney

The Beatles were an English rock band, formed in Liverpool in 1960. With members John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, they became widely regarded as the foremost and most influential act of the rock era. In the early 1960s, their enormous popularity first emerged as "Beatlemania", which is a term that describe the intense fan frenzy directed toward the British band. The phenomenon began in 1963 and continued past the band's breakup in 1970. But yesterday, near Buchimgam Palace a tourist saw Paul McCartney...... Paul McCartney, he was born on 18 June 1942, he married Nancy Shevell on 2011 and has five children. He lives in Peasmarsh (Sussex)

Bridget Jones

Bridget Jones is a fictional character created by British writer Helen Fielding. Jones first appeared in Fielding's Bridget Jones's Diary column in The Independent in 1995, which - crucially - did not carry any byline. Thus, it seemed to be an actual personal diary chronicling the life of Jones as a thirtysomething single woman in London as she tries to make sense of life, love, and relationships with the help of a surrogate "urban family" of friends in the 1990s. The column was, in fact, a lampoon of women's obsession with love, marriage and romance as well as women's magazines such as Cosmopolitan and wider social trends in Britain at the time. Fielding published the novelisation of the column in 1996, followed by a sequel in 1999 called Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. Both novels were adapted for the big screen in 2001 and 2004, starring Renée Zellweger as Bridget Jones, and Hugh Grant and Colin Firth as the men in her life: Daniel Cleaver and Mark Darcy, respectively. Bridget Jones graduated from Bangor University. She is a 32-year-old single woman whose life is a satirized version of the stereotypical single London 30-something in the 1990s trying to go out there and look for love. She has some bad habits—smoking and drinking too much—but she annually writes her New Year's resolutions in her diary, determined to stop smoking, drink no more than 14 alcohol units a week, and eat more "pulses" and try her best to lose weight.
