THE LIGHT BULB- MOSER LAMP

The light bulb was invented by the American inventor Thomas Edison in 1879. The light up for 1500 hours was produced by the light bulb. It changed the world and Edison was made rich and famous. But the man who invented a light bulb that uses no electricity is neither rich nor famous. The lives of millons were changed by his literally brilliant invention. The Moser Lamp was the idea of a Brazilian engineer called Alfredo Moser. And small businesses in poorer countries around the world were given light.

Subject + Verb to be + Past participle verb (3rd colum of verbs). The passive voice is used when the focus is on the action. It is not important or not known, however, who or what is performing the action. - A computer is used to work at home. - The light bulb was invented in 1879.
