The city is wild and bohemian, and full of culture, artistry, exceptional food and music. It's a popular seaside destination with long sandy beaches, and a thriving and cosmopolitan city centre. It is always a joy to explore with its wonderful cobbled streets and colourful shop facades. Galway is also well known for its proliferation of festivals.

CONNEMARA HERITAGE

Dan O’Hara’s Homestead is an award winning heritage centre located 5 miles from Clifden Town, the capital of Connemara. It offers a unique insight into the history and heritage of this most beautiful part of the West of Ireland. It has the restored home of Dan O’Hara, a tenant farmer who was evicted because he was unable to pay his rent. He emigrated to the US.and ended up selling matches in New York.

Gaelic Football is the most popular of the Gaelic games and is played on a rectangular grass pitch with H-shaped goals at each end. Our game is full of speed, precision, accuracy and intensity. It is played with a round ball and both hands and feet are used to control and pass the ball. There are 15 players on each team, with only 1 referee.

ROCK OF CASHEL

This video takes you on a journey to Rock of Cashel. One of the most spectacular tourist attractions in Ireland and one of the most visited. Cashel’s rich history is reflected in its built heritage, from prehistoric raths to mediaeval monasteries and fortified town houses, a Georgian Cathedral and a 21st century Library (which holds regular exhibitions, workshops and concerts). The Georgian quarter also boasts the Bolton Library where you can find the smallest book in Ireland.
