The Metal Age
The Neolithic Age
The Palaeolithic Age
It ended with the discovery of farming. People were nomads and lived in tribes and shared jobs. They lived in caves or huts. They ate meat from the animals they hunted or fished for and gathered wild fruits.People used animal skin to protect themselves and bones and stones as ornaments.
People learnt to make objects with metal (copper, bronze and iron). Villages nearest metal mines grew into towns and then cities protected by walls. Houses were small with adobe or stone walls. New jobs were created: traders, soldier... The inhabitants of each city were protected by a chief.
People became sedentary, they lived in a single place and made huts. They lived in villages near rivers and protected them with walls and fences. They specialised in certain jobs. People learnt to produce their own food. They continued to use animal skin and they made their own clothes.
