This man is Abraham Lincoln. He was born in 1809 and he died in 1865, he was assassinated.He was the 16th President of the USA. (1861-1865). He brought emancipation to the slaves = he abolished slavery in 1864. It is the 13th amendment, In Congress, it was passes by the Senate in 1864 and by the House in 1865. Abraham Lincoln is known as Honest Abe (= short for Abraham) or as the Great Emancipator
