• Road safety is teaching people how to behave safely when driving cars, riding their bikes or crossing the road.
• Following road safety rules is very important, since they can help preventing accidents and save lives.

In order to stay safe outside, you need to know the meanings of signals around you. Move your mouse over each picture to learn something about them.

Follow these rules to cross the road safely!

1. Always cross where there is a pedestrian crossing.

2. When crossing at traffic lights, only cross when the signal is green and wait if the signal is red.

4. Look to your left and then to your right to see if there are any cars coming.

3. Even when the signal is green or you are on a pedestrian crossing, be sure it is safe to cross.

Sometimes people listen to music through earphones while walking on the street. Remember that paying attention while on the street is very important. Sometimes you cannot see a car, but you should always listen to know if a car is near. Tip: Turn the volume of your music down. This way, you can enjoy your favourite songs and be safe!
