Puede sonar lógico, pero, usamos el pasado simple para expresar acciones terminadas, en un punto en el pasado. Los verbos en pasado, se dividen en regulares e irregulares:
Simple past
Verb BE in past, was/were

They were Americans (nationalities)
We were at school (location)
He was tall (appereance)
You were very funny (qualities)
Regular verbs
To make a regular verb, you add ED to the base form:
PlayedCalled watched Studied Liked Stopped

What can you notice in these verbs?
These verbs DON'T follow any pattern, and sometimes, the present is very different from the past form.
