Elizabeth I's reign. Also called "the Virgin Queen" Elizabeth tought that a marriage was dangerous and she replied that she would 'rule and die a virgin'.
Spain was preparing an Armada to invade Britain. The Spanish king wanted to bring England once again under the rule of the Church of Rome.
Elizabeth died in 1603 saying that the Protestant King of Scotland , James, son of Mary, would succeed her.

Elizabeth re-introducesd the Acts of Supremacy and Unifromity.
English ships were faster and better armed. The Armada escape to the North Sea and hit by storms. Many men died. The Spanish invasion failed, confirming England's supremacy at sea
