It is the study of things that happened in the past. It tells us things about how our ancestors lived and about important events. It helps us understand the present.

They use different sources:

  • Objects found by archaelogists.
  • Works of art: monuments, sculptures, paintings...
  • Written documents: inscriptions on stone, papyri, books, maps...
