REIKI

What is it?

It is an alternative method of healing by laying on of hands in specific areas of our body.

This means that REIKI is the transmission of healing energy through the hands of the Reiki practitioner to the patient or person who needs to heal. (body, spirit, mind)

Healing by laying on of hands is as old as human beings, has several names and appears in various ancient texts. However, it is not a religion in itself.

Therefore, this method of healing laying on of hands called Reiki is NOT a religion.

We all have energy. That heat that we have in our palms is energy and we all have the ability to heal. When you fall and hurt yourself, we immediately bring our hands to ease the pain.

According to Diane Stein: "Human touch gives warmth, comfort and healing power, expresses love and affection."

We all have the ability to heal with our hands, however, when a person becomes a Reiki practitioner and has received the respective alignments, they have open channels that allow them to conduct life energy from an external source. In this way it does not exhaust its own vital energy.

BRIEF HISTORY OF REIKI

REI : Symbolizes the fall of the rain, something that comes from the sky KI: Divine energy or life force that we have inside all living beings

Therefore REIKI means something like: Life energy from God, or the Universe, from a divine source.

Mikao Usui discovered ancient Japanese literature at the monastery, about laying on of hands healing and thought that this method was too important for human beings to keep it as a secret or that only certain people have access to it. He wanted to learn about it and share it.

The ancient texts had very little information on how to use this method, so he spent 3 weeks meditating. On the 21st day he was enlightened with essential knowledge that allowed him to start using it and, more importantly, to start teaching it.

Mikao Usui passed his teachings to 16-18 students, one of them, Chujiro Hayashi who had several more students, including the first two female practitioners: his wife and Hawayo Takata who took these teachings to the American continent. Since then, REIKI began to spread throughout the world. And this is how nowadays there are so many hands of light working at the service of the greatest love.
