INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC
Instrumental music continues to develop with the introduction of new instruments, such as the piano and the clarinet.New and more varied chamber arrangements and the evolution of the orchestra also contributed to the progress of instrumental music. Instrumental music moved out of the court to public concert halls, which played a decisive roele in its develpment. New concert halls needed more sonority, so the orchestra had to have more members. The Baroque basso continuo was elimintated, and the number of string and wind instruments increased.

The progressive complexity of orchestral compositions set the need for an orchestra conductor.
THE SONATA SCHEME
During Classicism, the sonata became the main composition model applied to the first movement of all instrumental forms.

CONCERTO
SPANISH GUITAR
In Spain, the most prominent repertoire of instrumetnal musicwas devoted to the guitar, which became a highly popular instrument thanks to numerous treatises for amateurs. The most porminent composer was Fernando Sor (1778-1839) considered as the founder of the modern guitar school.
DANCE IN CLASSICISM
This was how modern ballet apppeared: as the conjunction of music, choreography and stage, all together, in order to express a dramatic idea.
THE TRUE BALLET: BALLET D'ACTION By hte middle of the 18th century, ballet underwent a great transformation thanks to the French choreographer J. Noverre, who created the "Ballet d'action", proving that dance, mime and music could tell a story without having to resort to poetry or singing.
Social Dance: Minuet
In the late 18th century the most popular dance was the minuet. The minuet is a French step dance with a ternary rhythm adn calm movements. It responds to a three-part form composed by a first minuet, then a second minuet called trio and the repetition to the first minuet.
