INTRODUCTION
CHOOSE YOUR DESTINATION
Unit 2A: 'once upon a time...'
Unit 2C: '50 ways to leave your lover?'
Unit 4A: 'History goes to the movies'
Unit 4C: 'Can't live without it'
Unit 2B: 'Are there really 3 hours in a day?'
WELCOME TO UNIT 2A: "once upon a time"
This is Nanurjuk, 'the star' in Inuit. As an Inuit proverb says: "Gathering memories is why all humans are on Planet Earth. It is the purpose of everybody's life". Talking about memories, do you remember this was the subject of unit 2A? What else do you remember about this unit? Let's find out! You will get some questions on the grammar point of this unit first (under the form of an anecdote where you have to fill in the missing tenses: narrative tenses, used to and would). Be careful: each time you make a mistake you'll have to start over from scratch! Secondly, you will have to solve a vocabulary exercise. Only then will Nanurjuk give you the number for this first mission!

This is Amin. Do you also think he looks sad? That's normal, Amin has just been dumped by his girlfriend. People say revenge is sweet, so he's considering getting his own back on her, but as we saw in the unit, this probably won't bring him any relief. So he's listening to music about lost love and revenge, hesitating about what to do. Can you help him?

WELCOME TO UNIT 4C:'Can't live without it'
This is Chalermwan, which means 'celebrated beauty' in Thai. For centuries, the women of Chalermwan's tribe, the Kayans, (sometimes known as the "giraffe women") have sported elaborate brass coils around their necks. Now, Chalermwan can't live without her brass coils anymore, so you could argue that she's addicted to them (contrary to what most people think it is not dangerous for her neck and spine, but she just doesn't like taking them off). However, she doesn't understand Western people's addiction to their mobile. With your knowledge of unit 4C, maybe you can help her?
