STEP #2: EXPERIMENT
Flight Works Alabama
Without using any external resources:- NO internet - NO adult assistance - NO social media Create a paper airplane with one sheet of regular white paper.
Launch your aircraft with all of your strength!
STEP #3: MEASURE
Flight Works Alabama
After you launch your aircraft into the air, record your results.A few items to note when you record your distances:
- Throw your aircraft multiple times from the same starting position.
- Record each of your flight distances.
- Don't be discouraged if you fail.Failure helps you move forward.

STEP #6: Brainstorm
Flight Works Alabama
- Brainstorm!
- Think about your research:
- What was successful about the paper airplanes you built?
- What failures did you experience?
- Try different things:
- Change the type of paper.
- Add weight in the nose (paperclip, penny, etc.).
- Create more acute angles in the design.
GO CREATE!
STEP #7: COMPARE
Flight Works Alabama
Make multiple designs! Record the data!
STEP #8: CHALLENGE
Flight Works Alabama
Once you have perfected your design, challenge someone!
I used to make paper airplanes all of the time! I bet I could show a few techniques...
Anything you can do, I can do better!
Sounds like fun!
