ADJECTIVES
- Describe people, animals, plants, objects, places, etc.
- Adjectives are always written before nouns. (The red car, the tall boy, the fast horse..)
- They are always written in singular, never plural.
Comparatives
Short adjectives: -er than
- tall - taller than
- big - bigger than
- short - shorter than
- green - greener than
- happy - happier than
Long adjectives: more adjective than
- beautiful - more beautiful than
- boring - more boring than
- difficult - more difficult than
Superlatives
Short adjectives: the -est Tall - the tallest Big - the biggest Short - the shortest Green - the greenest Happy - the happiest
Long adjectives: the most + adjective Beautiful - the most beautiful Boring - the most boring Difficult - the most difficult
Too - Enough
Too
Enough
Enough means sufficient (suficiente) Write "enough" after the adjective: She is tall enough to participate in the competition. The picture wasn´t beautiful enough to look at it.
Too means more than needed (demasiado) Write "too" before the adjective: The exam was too difficult. The party was too short.
As ... as
As ... as is used to make comparisons when things are equal in some way. The blue house is as big as the red house. Paul is as happy as Helen.
