The location
Lubochnia is a small village in the Gniezno Commune. Heading eastwards from Gniezno, one of the most beautiful corners of the Gniezno Commune. The Gniezno Lakeland, within the Gniezno Hills, has an interesting terrain relief varied by the valley of the Vlna and the slopes of the Gniezno Upland. All the physico-geographical units listed here belong to the Wielkopolska Lowland, and lie at an altitude of about 100 m above sea level.

The Association for the Activation of the Local Community "Siedlisko" in Lubochnia has for many years been carrying out activities related to the broadly understood environmental, natural and civic education of the inhabitants of the Gniezno district and supporting young people in their psychophysical development. The scope of interest also includes regional and pro-health education. Siedlisko also undertakes activities promoting tourist values of the Wielkopolska Region by organizing bicycle rallies and canoeing trips.
We have carried out many projects related to active protection of wild pollinating insects and bees. We also promoted a return to traditional rural gardens, where there is great biodiversity, including a lot of nectariferous plants.

The topic we are dealing with this year is related to the promotion of the Zero Waste lifestyle, according to which man tries to generate as little waste as possible in order not to pollute the environment, by, among other things, giving objects a "second life" through upcycling, i.e. reuse of things with increasing their value and exchange of objects. We want to support the inhabitants of our region in pro-environmental activities, we want to support them in activities for the benefit of their community.
We are curious how organizations from other countries cope with the growing problem of increasing the amount of waste produced, which undoubtedly has an impact on climate change.
Therefore, we would like not only to share our experiences, but above all we would like to gain new knowledge about zero waste and the possibilities of DIY recycling, saving and collecting water and protecting biodiversity.
