QUESTIONS IN THE PASSIVE VOICE
Just remember that the AFFIRMATIVE SENTENCES in the passive voice are made up of:SUBJECT + Verb TO BE (conjugated) + PAST PARTICIPLE of the MAIN VERB + BY+ OBJECT Ex: The book is read by my brother. Ex: The windows were cleaned by those men.
1.How to write a question in the passive voice
A. Questions without Wh- question
Who - What - Where - When - Which - How - Whose -Why - Whom - How - How many / much
The structure is quite similar to the questions in the active voice.We just need to swap the subject and the verb "to be".
Verb TO BE (conjugated) + SUBJECT + PAST PARTICIPLE of the MAIN VERB + BY+ OBJECT Ex: Is the book read by my brother? Ex: Were the windows cleaned by those men?
B. Questions with Wh- question
Who - What - Where - When - Which - How - Whose -Why - Whom - How - How many / much
The structure is the same as the previous one.We just need to include the wh- particle at the beginning
Wh- + Verb TO BE (conjugated) + SUBJECT + PAST PARTICIPLE of the MAIN VERB + BY+ OBJECT Ex: Where are the keys left? Ex: What was the first word said by your sister?
