We use the simple past: - To talk about actions that started and finished in the past. - To talk about actions that happened, one after the other in the past (like in a story).

We form the past simple regular verb by adding -ed to the infinitive. Most of the verbs in English are regular.

Questions

Did you go to the beach in August? Did they cook spaghettis for lunch yesterday? Did he ran 10 km last Saturday?

We use didn't (did not), to write negative sentences in pastDIDN'T + INFINITIVE.

We use DID+personal pronoun+verb in infinitive to write questions
