MAIN CHARACTERISTICS
- Most of the earth animals are invertebrate.-Invertebrates don't have skeleton or backbone. - They are oviparous. -Many of them have shells or armour called exoeskeleton to protect their bodies. - They live in land and in water, but most live in water. -They can be carnivores, omnivores and hervivores.
CNIDARIANS
- Jellyfish: have poisonous tentacles- Corals: they are fixed and they can't move. - Anemones: they look flowers
WORMS
- No legs and no hard covering- They always have wet skin. - They breathe through their skin. Types: Earthworms (live on land), nereis (live in water) and leeches (aquatic worms)
- live in salt water- they look like a ball or star - symmetrical bodies - use their feet to stick to the seabed and move and suck up (sorber) food - omnivores, carnivores or hervivores

MOLLUSCS
- they are land aquatic animals- have soft bodies - don't have legs but some have tetacles - some have a hard sell for protection - mostly live in salt water, but some live in fresh water or on land
ARTHROPODS
- they have an armour plate covering their bodies-they have legs but a different number of legs depending on the species - some can fly - they live in water or on land
PORIFERA
- they don't have blood or organs- they absorb nutrients from the water - mostly live in salt water but some life in fresh water - they are fixed to rocks or seabed
