  5. Let the magic begin!

SECOND EXPERIMENT

Tornado in a glass

procedure

  • Water
  • Liquid dish soap
  • Glitter
  1. Fill the glass with three quarters of water.
  2. Put a few drops of dish soap into the water.
  3. Use a hand to stir the water quickly in circular motion until you make bubbles.
  4. Add glitter to see better how the water current moves inside the glass

THIRD EXPERIMENT

procedure

material

  • An empty jar
  • 4 tbsp of cooking oil
  • Food coloring
  • Water
  • A bowl
  • Paper towels
  • A spoon
  1. Fill an empty jar 3/4 of the way with water
  2. Put this asside
  3. In a bowl combine 3 tablespoons of cooking oil along with several drops of food coloring
  4. Add 3-5 drops of food coloring for each color that you are using.
  5. Use a spoon to stir the food coloring into the oil
  6. It will not mix, but stirring will help to break the food coloring into smaller droplets
  7. Pour the container of oil into the jar of water.
  8. After a moment or two the oil will settle at the top of the jar, but the food coloring will begin to shoot down and mix into the water, creating a "fireworks" effect!
