DEFINITION

Sitting volleyball is a form of volleyball for athletes with a physical disability.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PLAYERS

The players are people with different types of physical disabilities, for the most part they are people with missing limbs but it happens that normal people also play while sitting.

EQUIPMENT THEY USE

The equipment they use are a volleyball ball, a net, t-shirt, pants or short pants, socks and trainers. The players can also play without shoes.

RULES

The rules are the same as the original form of volleyball with the exceptions that players must have at least one buttock in contact with the floor whenever they make contact with the ball.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SITTING VOLLEYBALL AND VOLLEYBALL

In sitting volleyball the net is set at 1,15 meters high for men and 1,05 meters high for women.In volleyball is 2,43 meters high for men and 2,24 meters high for women.
