Highlights
- In the afternoon of Dec. 11 I sang at the Literary Club's annual OFA Cafe, performing a sing-along of Bohemian Rhapsody!
- On Dec. 18 I attended the 2nd of 4 meetings of the School Library Systems Council and Communication Coordinators meeting, where I represent the OACSD. We participated in a webinar learning about Swank, a streaming service which is being explored as a new service provided by the Media Library.
- Also on Dec. 18, I attended an OPALS Users meeting, where I learned about updates to our circulation system.
- https://anchor.fm/kathy-starksOn Dec. 10 I attended a workshop at BOCES on Podcasting in the Classroom. Received some GREAT tips for incorporating podcasting into the curriculum and am very excited about continuing this work. I even created my own! See above for link, if you'd like to check it out.
- On the morning of Dec. 11 I attended the Secondary Community of Practice, where I shared the updated Empire State Information Fluency Continuum Standards with other librarians in the BOCES area
Continued to be busy with classes, which makes it difficult to get any other work done! January looks to be equally as busy, if not more so. Had fun with students in the library during the Holiday Spirit Week which preceded our break. Holiday pants were especially popular wear!

Next steps
Continue exploring ways to incorporate podcasting into instruction
Offer professional development in student podcasting, ed tech tools, using Twitter for professional learning
Would love to genrefy the fiction section! Requires time and attention, but I've heard from colleagues in Vestal and Harpursville that it could increase book checkouts
Explore professional development for myself to continue learning and growing!
