People are mammals. The differences between humans and other animals are: .

- We can think because we have a super brain.

- We can talk to communicate.

There are other physical characteristics that makes us unique: BODY SHAPE. INDIVIDUAL CHARACTERISTICS. SEXUAL CHARACTERISTICS

The stages of life

Adulthood (25-70 years old)

  • Our bodies are totally formed.
  • We are ready to have babies.

Adolescence(11-16 years old)

  • Big physical changes occur.
  • Sexual characteristics appear.

Childhood (0-11 years old)

  • We learn to walk, eat alone...etc.
  • Our bodies grow quickly.

Young adulthood(16-25 years old)

  • Our bodies become stonger.
  • Our personalities are totally formed.

Old age (from 70 years old)

  • Less physical strength, agility and mental abilities.

Life processes

Human beings are living things. We do the three life processes:

Interaction

Reproduction

Nutrition

NUTRITION This life process happens when we eat and breathe. This is how we obtain energy and the other things you need to live. For nutrition we need:

REPRODUCTION Humans can produce descendants. This life process is the reproductive system. It is different in men and women.

INTERACTION Consists of being aware of what happens around us and reacting to it. Interaction involves:

Bones and muscles

The musculoskeletal system consist of the skeleton, joints and muscles, and is controlled by the nervous system.

The senses

The senses are: sight, hearing, smell, touch and taste.

Eyes are the organs of sight. They allow us to see.

The ear is the organ of hearing. Our sense of hearing allows us to perceive sounds.

The nose is the organs of smell. Smell allows us to perceive odours (smells).

Touch This sense is in our skin. With the sense of touch, we perceive the temperature, texture or shape of an object

The sense of taste is on the tongue. The tongue is able to detect the flavours.
