Easter in Poland

EASTER BASKET

This is an Easter basket (in Polish koszyczek wielkanocny). Polish people put Easter eggs, some bread, salt and pepper, some cress, a sausage, a sugar lamb, a chick and catkins inside their baskets.

EASTER EGGS

For Polish people an Easter egg (in Polish pisanka) is the symbol of a new life. On Easter Sunday, they eat Easter breakfast, share an Easter egg or they look for chocolate eggs and wish each other lots of happiness and health.

WET MONDAY

On Wet Monday (in Polish Lany Poniedziałek), Polish people pour water on each other for good luck.

Thank you
