The cello is is a string instrument that belongs to the violin's family. It is considered as the bass of the family of musical instruments that produce sound by means of the vibration of its strings. It is very similar to a violin as to its size, but is larger and is played with the instrument resting on the floor using a peg. Its sound is unmistakable and is of great importance in an orchestra.

This instrument emerged in the sixteenth century. It was an instrument very similar to the current one, but it was larger. It had some modifications during its development so it was not a very popular instrument and also. The nineteenth century was the moment of its maximum splendor. At present, the cello has become one of the most important instruments and today is even used in the metal style.
