The learning plateau
What is the learning plateau?
Learning a language is not a smooth journey, and one of the worst stages is called the learning plateau. It happens when, despite all the effort, you feel you are stuck and making very little progress. It is common when transitioning from the intermediate to advanced level.
How do we get there?
Maybe you have kept the same learning routine for too long. You may have lost the initial enthusiasm. It was easier in the early stages and you had greater sense of acheivement. You may have already achieved some of the goals, and you can't remember why you are making so much effort.
What can be done?
Seek opportunities to use waht you can do in context: find study-groups or meet-ups, watch media in English..
Set new goals and rediscover the joy of learning
Change your learning routine. Find new activities to make it stimulating again.
