Polycystic Ovarian Disease(PCOD)

What is PCOD?

PCOD is a "syndrome", or a group of symptoms that affects the ovaries and ovulation. It affects women during their chilbearing years (ages 15 to 44). Its three main features are:

  • cysts in the ovaries
  • high levels of male hormones
  • Irregular or skipped periods
