The air-raid Shelters

We visited the shelters on the Cardiff Castle.The shelters were tunnels, that consist on protecting people from boms at war time. The government in those days was against shelters because of the if the shelters were hit. It also feared that the population would simply hide in them and not get on with the war effort.

In the shelters there were dormitories with bunks, kitchen, toilets and some aid posts concealed within the walls.
