HISTORY OF THE CINEMA
The Lumiere Brothers invented the cinemátographe (both a projector and a camera)
The first cinema opened in Paris. Films told a simple story and special effects were used for the first time.
Lots of silent movies were produced. There were 10.000 cinemas in the US.Most movies were short and included music.
Film producers moved to Hollywood (California) because of the better weather to film the movies.
'The Jazz Singer' was the first 'talking film', so sound was introduced.
No food was allowed until 1929 when popcorn was introduced for the first time

Colour was introduced for the first time in the film industry.
The popularity of TV caused the end of the golden age of Hollywood.
Computers entered the world of films. Fiction characters and images started to seem real.
Nachos, fries, popcorn, sweets, chocolate, ice-cream...some cinemas even offered meals.
Marvel's the Avengers earned approximately $944.3 million.
The highest paid actress of 2013 was Angelina Jolie, who earned $21.3 million.
