How does your product use or challenge conversions and does it represent social groups or issues?
For my A1 coursework I have made a film opening sequence based on one of the most common social issues in all over the world. Drunk-driving is a common issue in teenagers or adults who can not handle the emotional stress in their lives. This leads to activities such as car accidents, which may result in death. This may look fun or cool but people need to be careful with the amount of alcohol they take in and make sure they don’t make stupid decisions such as, driving while they’re drunk.
The opening sequence of my film basically highlights the story, of how teenagers these days do things that are not physically fit for them. They go out at parties smoke joints, drink alcohol, and do drugs which will be a health issue for them later on in life but as well as in the present. People don’t make the best decisions while they’re drunk and driving is one of the worst. This is exactly what our film shows, how a guy is at a party with his girlfriend and friends, who is fed up of his life and this causes him to make bad decisions and get into a dangerous car accident which then causes a mans death.
Our opening scene uses generic conversations of an opening sequence. It basically starts off by showing the first shot of the guard and the daughter of the old guy who died. The storyline is then reversed, and a flashback has been shown of what exactly happened before the accident took place.
We figured this way the audience would understand the concept behind it since ‘thriller & drama’ is the genre of the film and the shots were added in such a way during editing which helped build suspense.
