HOW DO YOUR PRODUCTS USE OR CHALLENGE CONVENTIONS AND HOW DOES IT REPRESENT SOCIAL GROUPS AND ISSUES?

CONVENTIONS.

We researched numerous trailers for our project but the trailer that closely related to the project was the the trailer for "DIE HARD 4.0".The certain tone and vibe of an action thriller was common between our project and "DIE HARD 4,0", the low amount of lighting creates a dramatic impact which catches the atttention of the audience at the very first glance.The moment in the trailer of Die Hard when the person is climbing down a hole leaves the audiece thinking and we used the same tactic with our trailer when our main character is shown coding on a computer which again leaves the audience in thought.

MISE-EN-SCENE.

The usage of props such as guns and knives or just weapons in general in a huge convention of action thriller movies.These props create a deeper meaning which is realted to threats or danger and reflects idea patterns in the mind of the audience and adds to the Mise-en-scene.

Fights scenes tend to create a number of fast moving shots and rapid cutscenes which help move the story faster as per the requirement of the action genre and it develops the characters too.

REGMAAR

Regmaar is a word that comes from the urdu language which loosely translates to sandpaper. Regmaar tells the story of a College Student who develops a business by selling drugs through the deep web but by doing so he endangers the lives of those who are close to him.In the end he smoothens his life out by gets his hands scrapped in the process which is the metaphorical meaning that 'REGMAAR' represents.

ISSUES: The usuage of the internet has expanded over the years, such as the advancement and development of web 2.0 and it has also given birth to online criminal activities which are usually conducted through the deep web. Criminal activities i.e drug dealing is very common through the use of the deep web now a days such as we've portrayed in out trailer as the protagonist hacks into the deep/dark web to reciever orders for his business (Drug manufacturing) as he becomes the center of attention for the legal authorities (The police and Government).This idea is a common and expannding problem and threat among the societies of the world today and was indeed a topic which we wished to highlight in out trailer so that the relating audiences would learn and be cautious.

CULTURAL INFLUENCE

The modern day society is heavily influenced by the youger generation.The constant use of the internet and smart phones has given the youth a new frame of thought due to which they have developed personalities that protest against the thoughts of their parents,In our movie trailer the teenage characters such as the protagonist and the daughter of the police officer depict those basic teenage characteristics.The daughter is dating the popular boy in school who is a law offender and is rebelling against her parents by doing so.

SOCIAL GROUPS.

Our project makes teenagers its main focus and through the use of mise-en-scene the portrayal of the costumes,scenes,props and characters was done exquisitely.The use of a classroom environment with uniforms portrays a college environment and certain scenes such as leaning on a pillar with a bagpack sleeve in one arm captures the image of the youth and thus represents a social group.
