The Product Owner is the main person in charge of managing the Product Backlog. The Product Owner role can be compared to what is traditionally considered a Project Manager and the duties associated with that role.Basically, the Product Owner handles work (task) requests, schedules deliverables and works as a liaison for Clients. The Product Owner is the only person who can modify the Product Backlog, change work priorities for the Development Team and accept or reject incoming work requests.

The Scrum Master is dual roles of sorts, serving as a leader for the Team. He/she acts as a guide for those outside the Team helping them to understand the process and adapt to it. The Scrum Master helps the optimize interactions with the Scrum Team and maximizes value created by using Scrum.He/she leads all major sprint actions, manages sprint reviews, planning meetings, and the overall facilitation of the Scrum process. He/she can determine efficiency and suggest improvements when needed.

The Development Team consists of the professionals who do the work of delivering the work. This team may consist of such role designations such as Digital Marketing Manager, CRO Manager, PPC Specialist, Social Media, etc.In a Scrum, all titles are removed with the goal of all those who contribute their strengths and weaknesses to the team to deliver the desired results of the Sprint. It is the expectation that the development team is cross-functional, meaning they can perform in multiple areas. While this is ideal, it’s not always doable in a marketing context.
