The film genre in the past

Action films are a film genre in which the protagonist ends up in a series of challenges that typically include violence, long fights, and epic chases. Action films tend to have a resourceful hero struggling against all the obstacles that get in his way, which include really dangerous situations, a villain, or an objective which generally concludes in the victory of the hero.Some historians consider The Great Train Robbery ( An American film ) to be the first action film because it included these characteristics.

The evolution of action films

During the 70s the action films usually were oriented towards the police officer adventures such as 'Dirty Harry' and 'The Seven-Ups' In the 80s the films started to have bigger budgets with actors that are really popular today like Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis and there were films that were created at this time such as Terminator which is a saga that still exists today

The first James Bond film

One of the films that we're going to focus on is James Bond which is a saga that has been existing since 1967

Casino Royale was the first James Bond film based off of Ian's Fleming novel which has the same name, it was released in 1967 This film lasted barely an hour and it also doesn't have any special effects and the scenes were really impressive not because of the effects as today happens, they were incredible because of the camera angles and chasing scenes. In this film the actor was Barry Nelson who was later replaced by another actor, but this change happened many times since six different people have been James Bond

Nowadays James Bond films now last up to 2 hours like one of the newest ones, ''Skyfall' they also have a lot of special effects and enormous budgets such as Spectre's 225 million dollars budget and getting 800 million in profit but the biggest profit in the whole saga was from Skyfall with a total of 1 billion dollars in profit

Sherlock Holmes

Sherlock Holmes is a movie saga based off of a series of books which are called in the same way, the author was the british author Arthur Conan Doyle. Sherlock Holmes is a detective who is well known for solving cases using pure logic and finding clues where no one does.Sherlock Holmes films are really old, the first film being filmed in 1939 and it was called 'The Hound of the Baskervilles'

Nowadays Sherlock Holmes films are a bit more fantastic and spectacular with a lot of fighting scenes in which Sherlock proves to be not only skilled in solving mysterious cases but also in fighting, in these films they start using special effects which in older films where never thought of.
