what is padlet?

Padlet is a web tool in which you can build a virtual wall. You are given a blank wall and there you can paste everything you want: pictures, comments, videos. Besides, registration is easy and free: you sign up using your email account and current password or you can change it.

How to use padlet

First, you have to click on the saw icon (“Modify this wall”). Taking into account the topic of the wall, you have to choose a picture for the portrait. You can choose a picture from the website or you can upload the photo from your computer. Then, you have to write the title and the description of the wall. You can also choose the wallpaper, the layout (Freeform: Posts can be put anywhere / Stream: Posts are placed one below the other). To post comments you have to click on the wall twice. You have to add the post title and a brief description of it. You can also upload videos and pictures following these steps. Before finishing, you can create the address of the virtual wall. You can pick a “padlet.com address” (padlet.com/wall/…)

regarding visibility, you have some options to choose how public you want your wall to be. The options are:Edit§ Private: Only you and people you add by email can access this wall.§ Password Protected: Visitors will be required to enter this password to access this wall.§ Hidden link: The wall will have a public link, but the link will be hidden from Google and public areas of Padlet.§ Totally public: The wall will be public. It can show up in Google searches and can be featured by Padlet on the homepage.The other option you have is to add people by mail. You enter the email addresses and the webpage sends these people the link to their email box. Before sending the link to the people you want you have to decide the visibility of your wall for them. In all cases you can choose:§ Can View: People can view the wall and the posts. They can’t add new posts, edit existing posts, or change the wall.§ Can Write: People can view the wall and write posts. They can only edit his/her posts but not ones written by others and cannot change the wall.§ Can Moderate: People can view and write. They can edit any post and approve posts that require moderation but they can’t change the wall.
