The Battle of Thermopylae took place during the Second Medical War , the Persian empire fight Greek polis led by Sparta. The battle lasted three days and it was developed in the pass of Thermopylae (hence the name).

And finally the Greeks stop the Persian advance, but they did not give up, and they sent 250,000 men and Greece only 7,000 , but still resisted for seven days . But a Persian commanded led by King Leonidas I of Sparta, they blocked their only way to enter Greece . When the Greeks thought they had already won Ephialtes betrayed giving a great help to the Persians and this time Greece could not resist.
