THE WAY SYPHILIS IS TRANSMITTED

  • Direct contact
  • It occurs on external genitals...

  • its caused by bacterium treponema pallidum

ORDER OF SYMPTOMS

  • chancre happens 3 weeks after explosure
  • begins on the trunk of your body then eventually spreads
  • painless
  • can be hidden in the vagina or rectum
  • heals on its own in 6 weeks
  • if not treated you could get latent syphilis

LATENT SYPHILIS

  • can last for years
  • later get tertiary

TERTIARY SYPHILIS

  • damage your brain
  • nerves
  • eyes
  • heart
  • blood vessels
  • liver
  • bones
  • joints
  • brain
  • muscele tension
  • paralysis
  • numbness
  • gradual blindness
  • mental illness
  • death

CURE FOR SYPHILIS

  • doctors recomend one doce of penecilin
  • pregnant woman take the antibiotic there child will also receieve it
  • follow up with a periodic blood tests or exams to make sure you no longer have syphilis

HOW TO PREVENT SYPHILIS

  • avoid being in a relationship with someone who had sex with someone else
  • get tested: blood tests, fluid from sores and cerebral spinal fluid
  • use latex condoms
  • don't have oral, vaginal or anal sex
  • C-sections
